Purchase Package

I had a few inquiries on the purchase package. The full purchase schedule including he list of available options can be obtained by contacting Dean at Windrider Nickles Boat Works.

The basic sail-away package, ex works, Brech, France, is the 20.2 sport with dacron sails, 1 reef point main sail and jib), white gel coat, aluminum mast, 4:1 main sheet, and tramps. From that base, the Embouchure is the XL upgrade version with larger cabin, plus extras, shipping to USA and trailer.

The 20.2 XL, aka 'Leisure' or 'Raid' version, was specified with the following extras / optional items: Gennaker 17 m² on bowsprit & furler Supplementary reef on the main, (two reef points total), Mainsail rail & carriage, Supplementary shrouds with block and tackles at the aft aka. Jib Furler with endless loop type hookmatic (zippered luff connection to the forestay), Minor fittings sport (6 block Main sheet Tackle, Cunningham, rotating cam cleat for mainsail halyard, telescopic tiller extension) 2 Opening portholes on the side cabin, 2 Access hatches for lockers under cockpit seat bench, Bathing ladder on the transom, Stainless steel bar for supporting mast during transport Mast stepping kit (gin pole),

  Trimarans

First became acquainted with trimaran sailing boats in the late 70s  while on a trip to Miami, riding converted Hobie 16 beach cat hulls that were added to a crafted center hull. Later discovered the rich history of multi-hulls and design from the writings of Jim Brown, Chris White and others.

This blog is will chronicle explicita, past exploits of discovery, sailing nuances and characteristics, plus after market modifications, and sailing adventures on the Astus 20.2 XL model named "Embouchure".
